Klings Kangwa roped in for back to back World Cup qualifiers

Russian-based Chipolopolo Boys midfielder Klings Kangwa has been handed a late call-up for the back-to-back Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Mauritania and Tunisia.

The former Buildcon playmaker took to Facebook to confirm his call up ahead of the two dead rubber matches.

Kangwa was initially left out of the 27 member squad summoned for the two matches by coach Beston Chambeshi.

Proud to be back in the National Team set up for the upcoming group of fixtures. Can’t wait to link with the lads

The Arsenal Tula player has been impressive for his club in the recent past with match-winning performances which saw him win player of the month at the club, player of the match against Zenit St Petersburg, and his 90th-minute strike against Zenit was voted as the goal of the month for October.

Zambia hosts Mauritania on November 13 at National Heroes Stadium in Lusaka before trekking away to Tunis for the concluding Group B match three days later.

Tunisia tops Group B on 10 points while Equatorial Guinea has seven with Zambia in third with four. At the tail-end is Mauritania with one point.

Tickets for the match are on sale across Shoprite outlets via Computicket and are fetching K30 (South and North Wing), K50 (East Wing), K70 (West Wing), and K250 (VIP).

  1. This coach is walking sleeping. They are other lads dotted around the globe who deserve to be cropped too . Can someone wake him up

  2. Zambia has no real holding midfielder at the moment, and the backline is average. Yet he keeps calling in attack minded players. As much as I appreciate Klings’ talent; Chambeshi hasn’t done much to shore up the back. Will we beat Mauritania…most likely. Also surprisingly, Zambia still has a mathematical chance of qualifying. If Tunisia lose to EG and if EG lose to Mauritania, and Zambia wins both games against Tunisia and Mauritania then Tunisia Zambia and EG will be locked on 10 points
