Mwepu and Daka lead 27 bullets for Mauritania and Tunisia ties

Zambia national team head coach Beston Chambeshi has named a 27 member squad for the back-to-back Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Mauritania and Tunisia.

Chambeshi has named a strong squad led by the English Premier League duo of striker Patson Daka and midfielder Enock Mwepu.

FC Rangers star Fashion Sakala, Evans Kangwa, Sweden-based duo of winger Edward Chilufya and midfielder Emmanuel Banda Jr have all made the cut.

Shamuel Academy and former Zambia U-17 captain Miguel Chaiwa has been handed a call-up. Toaster Nsabata has also been roped in after some impressive performances for Sekhukhune FC in the South African DSTV Premiership.

  1. What did Sunzu do to not get a call up still? This defense has proven to be porous and yet we keep calling the same people Smdh

  2. @Positive Thinking Chambeshi is repeating the same thing and he’s expecting a change in result. Can the journalist find out from Chambeshi what sin Sunzu has committed that he can’t be forgiven. When is the Faz appointing a new coach

  3. No klings kangwa n lameck banda vwe only have fill in the blanks Kelvin kampamba kampumbu who have struggled to impress a club from Tanzania despite being in national team setup for 2-3yrs

  4. Sadly people like E.Banda were ignored until the boat had already sank that’s when the Coach thought of him during the E.Guinea game at home.

If all these players were selected together with Sunzu at the beginning we would not be in this situation we are in.

I hope FAZ are already looking a proper Coach to take over from Chambeshi. This guy has really messed up together with his employers FAZ.

    • @Sibs you are right dont understand up to date. Truth is Chambeshi has a mission of marketing players and he is not alone regarding this

  5. National team is all about experience that’s why teams like Italy, France, Portugal have been consistent over the years because they maintain players regardless of the age. I believe players like Sunzu,Kalaba, mweene should have continued with the team to balance the team. But now its water under the bridge because it’s now building a team for the future. For once in life of football lets have our first 11 predictable not changing players every game. we need to be serious with what we are doing especially FAZ and the Technical bench
