Kasama United Youth Academy’s highly rated winger Joshua Chilufya has taken a huge step toward European football after securing a trial with Danish Superliga side FC Midtjylland.
The promising youngster, who is the younger brother of Zambia international Edward Chilufya, arrived in western Jutland on March 31 and has been undergoing assessments with the Danish outfit’s technical team.
His trial comes at a time when Midtjylland continues to scout emerging African talent, a strategy that has already paid dividends in recent years.
Joshua’s journey is particularly compelling given the presence of his elder brother Edward Chilufya at the same club.
Chilufya, known for his pace and attacking flair, has already established himself in Denmark, and the possibility of the siblings lining up together at club level adds an emotional and sporting narrative to the trial.
Joining Joshua in Denmark is Kafue Celtic midfielder Elvis Mulenga, another product of Kasama United’s development pipeline.
Mulenga linked up with the Danish side on April 17, offering further evidence of Kasama United’s growing reputation as a breeding ground for young talent capable of leaping to Europe.
