Uncertainty has continued to rock the camp of Katete United who plays in the Eastern Province FAZ Provincial Division One.
Experienced coach Cuthbert Miti has ended his short-term contract with the club and has refused to commit his services further with the team.
He was appointed head coach on 23rd February following the sacking of the entire technical bench, which at the time was led by Ezekiel Siamalambo. Terms of the contract stipulated that he was to be with the team up to 31st March with an option to extend his stay.
The ZamFoot Crew can reveal that Cuthbert Miti refused to extend his stay with the club due to bad working conditions at the club as there is no cooperation between the council and the executive which contains people from the community.
According to ZamFoot Crew sources, the biggest reason for his refusal was that players didn’t want to train and only wanted to come for training one or two days before the actual match as they called themselves veterans.
The ZamFoot Crew understands that Miti’s former employers Petauke United want him back and are locked in negotiations with him due to the team’s failure to find a form with Coach Kalengo Mwanza who has made the team that last season played national league play-offs to now occupy 14th placed this season and are 21 points behind league leaders Panza FC of Gondar barracks.
Cuthbert Miti coached the Katete outfit in seven fixures which saw him record two wins and draws with three losses and have left the team in 16th position one place above the relegation
It is now rumored that Katete United Ezekiel Siamalambo whom they sent on administrative leave to make a return but according to a close source, the coach is not willing at the moment to get back to coaching the team citing interference from some executive members and poor attitude from senior players.
Another ZamFoot Crew source revealed that the team is now exploring other options of wanting to bring former assistant coach for local rivals Katete Rangers Kelvin and another option is Nyoka of St Francis FC.
