Copperbelt Provincial D1: Jumulo stays top, Mutondo Stars back to winning ways as Mine Police continue to struggle

Jumulo FC of the Copperbelt continues to lead the pack following a barren draw away to Miseshi Blues Stars. It was a see-saw game in which both teams piled pressure on the other with goalkeepers called into action to make those vital saves to keep their team in the game.

The man of the match was John Mutale, the Jumulo goalkeeper whose good saves for the Ndola outfit earned them a point and a clean sheet.

The ZamFoot Crew caught up with veteran striker Zebron Njobvu who has joined Jumulo on a 6 months contract to help increase their chances of qualifying to the FAZ/Eden University National league.

The former Zanaco and Forest Rangers striker has pledged to help the team qualify for National League.

“I’m very happy for me playing with young players in a league like D1 it’s a plus to me, am motivated a lot it’s a new chapter of my career. I feel like this is when am starting football and I aim to take jumulo to the national league,” Njobvu told the ZamFoot Crew in an interview.

In other results, second, placed Mutondo Stars recovered from a loss they recorded at the hands of Luanshya United as they were in uncompromising mood beating Mufulira Police 3-1 to stay within touching distance with leaders Jumulo FC who are ahead with just one point. The center forward Johnny Katalayi was on song as he blasts two past the police goalkeeper while his forward partner Chisha kampamba scored one.

Roan United continues with their recovery path under new head coach Sammy Phiri as he is working hard to impress the fans who have been disappointed for some time and are hoping for the best way of returning to past glory and bounce back in the super league.

The match ended 1-1 with Kalulushi Modern stars in Kalulushi district a game in which the host scored in the 98th minute to level matters, Zamfoot was at the scene and caught up with roan united skipper Allen Pepa.

Konkola Mine Police recorded a ninth loss of the season when visiting Ndola United handed them a 2-0 loss, a result which saw them drop down to 18th place from 17th position while Chingola Leopards drew nil-all with Luanshya united with the other game saw Police Blue Eagles lose at home to Mufulira United.
