U.S Lecce forward Lameck Banda is ready for the 2023/24 season.
Banda has been putting in a lot of work in preseason for US Lecce ahead of the new Serie A season.
The former High Flying Nkwazi and Buildcon winger is looking to leave a mark in the new season according to ZamFoot Crew sources in Italy.
“The lad knows this could be his season. His hunger to succeed, drive and aggression could be key,” a ZamFoot Crew source from Italy said.
“Seems like the coach has noticed that the boy is ready to take the league by storm.
“He has been a beast so far in preseason.”
Banda became the first Zambian player to take part in an Italian Serie A match in August last year.
Banda came off the bench to make his debut in the Serie A for US Lecce in a 2-1 defeat to Inter-Milan.
Banda replaced Italian forward Federico de Francesco in the 74th minute to play the last 16 minutes of the match at the Stadio Via del Mare.
Banda made history in November last year as he became the first Zambian player to score in Serie A.
The Zambian international came off the bench to replace Gabriel Strefezza in the 71st minute and only needed 12 minutes to double the lead for US Lecce in their 2-0 win over Sampdoria.
Banda scored a brace at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium as Chipolopolo beat Lesotho 3-1 back in March enroute to qualifying for the Africa Cup of Nations.
