Green Eagles will take on Red Arrows on Sunday in the second semifinal of the 2022 ABSA Cup as they aim to reach their first final of the Competition.
The Kawale Boys are aiming to go all the way in the Competition as it provides their most realistic chance for silverware this season.
Despite being third on the league table, Red Arrows seem like they are destined for a second league title as they lead the log with 56 points, eight more than the Eagles with only six games to go.
Football being what it is you can never say never but the Airmen don’t seem like a team that will give up the league title.
With that said the Choma-based outfit has a chance to lay its hands in a trophy in the K650, 000 rich ABSA Cup.

The fans and management have been salivating for a piece of silverware since the arrival of Aggrey Chiyangi who has transformed from a relegation fighting side to a team that is challenging for honors.
The Chiyangi effect
Aggrey Chiyangi was appointed head coach of the Kawale Boys in June 2017 and ever since his arrival things are changed in Choma.
Chiyangi qualified the team for the CAF Confederation Cup in 2018 after they finished third in the league.
They beat Young Buffaloes of Swaziland 5-2 in the preliminary round before being dumped out in the first round by Algerian side Nasr Athlétique de Hussein Dey, 2-1 on aggregate.

During the 2019 transitional season, the Kawale Boys qualified for the CAF Champions League after they finished top of stream B.
On 24th August 2019, Green Eagles eliminated South Africa’s Orlando Pirates from the CAF Champions League competition as they drew 1-1 in a preliminary round, second leg match at the Orlando Stadium in Soweto, Johannesburg.
Tonka Tweende won the tie 2-1 on aggregate having edged the first leg 1-0 in Lusaka, Zambia two weeks earlier.
Unfortunately, Angolan outfit, C.D. Primeiro de Agosto relegated them to the CAF Confederation Cup where they were eliminated by Moroccan outfit Hassania Union Sport d’Agadir.

The season after they qualified for the CAF Confederation Cup but again it was another first-round elimination thanks to Cameronian’s side, Cotton Sport.
The Kawale Boys have been knocking and came very close in the transitional league when they lost the league title on post-match penalties to Zesco United.
The Power Dynamos legend has done very well for the Zambia National Service sponsored side but he needs silverware to cement his place in the history of the club.
Eagles seem like a team ready to win their first silverware but standing in their way are hot Red Arrows and Napsa Stars in the final should they see off the Airmen.
