The FAZ Under-16 Youth League has kicked off in Lusaka with 10 teams playing their week one matches. FAZ has streamlined Lusaka into zones with academies allowed to place their players under the umbrella zonal representative.
Super Division teams are now compelled under club licensing regulations to have youth teams that will be part of the Elite Youth League.
In the opening day’s fixtures in Lusaka, Red Arrows lost 1-0 to Garden Youth while Green Buffaloes beat Kafue Celtics 3-0.
The rest of the results had Atletico thumping Lusaka Dynamos 9-1 while Napsa Stars beat Barca Academy 2-0.
Zanaco under-16 side drew 1-1 with Morkved.
The FAZ Technical Directorate engaged Super Division sides and academies in Lusaka on modalities of managing the youth league.
FAZ plans to spread the youth league to the rest of the country.
