Chipolopolo trainer George Lwandamina has a full house in camp after all the players summoned to for the Gabon 2017 Africa of Nations qualifier against Kenya.
European based players Emmanuel Mbola, Lubambo Musonda and Stoppila Sunzu were all part of the today’s training sessions including skipper Rainford Kalaba and Nathan Sinkala.
Kalaba and Sunzu only joined the training today.
The team is mainly comprised of local players with only 7 foreign based players available after Chisamba Lungu snubbed the call up.
The national team is training from Ndola at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium.

Great chance for most of the boys to get back together and have a good work out against Kenya in front of the home fans and get ready for World Cup qualifiers. I am just sorry that Mbesuma and Mayuka are not there. Go Chipolopolo!
tired of the same tired legs, time to bring those shinning in the local league.
I think its only fair Mbesuma first kicks a ball for his new club before leaving his club camp for the national team before he even plays one game for them. There is a lot of expectation on him from his new club.
Mbesuma is not eligible for this match as he has accumulated two yellow cards in the qualifiers.
Chipolopolo iyeee Kenya get ready , we are the copper bullets ask Ivory Coast , 2012 AFCON golden Champions.
I still don’t understand why we summoned 7 pro’s for a rubber stamp game. Waste of money if you ask me.
Maybe in a way to bring some cohesion in preparation for the WC games since faz can’t organise quality friendlies
Because Nigeria are taking WC very serious unlike us
No coach upto now
Awe sure zed stylo of doing things
One game and two training sessions will not build cohession
Rohr will be taking charge of his first official match and want to use the match to sharpen his arsenals
for the start of the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifiers next month.
Nigeria are in tough Group against Cameroon, Zambia and Algeria.

that’s why chisamba has turned down the call up its wasting money for foreign based players.
LUSAKA Youth Soccer Academy (LYSA) midfielder Ngosa Sunzu has joined Israeli side Hapoel Ra’anana Youth Academy for a year.
Israel-based agent Nir Karin, who confirmed the development, said Sunzu is on loan with an option to buy him.
“Ngosa Sunzu has signed a one-year loan in Hapoel Ra’anana Youth Academy. He is on loan from Lusaka Youth Academy with an option to buy him. Ngosa feels very good here and hopefully it’s a start of a great European career like his brother Stopilla,” Karin said.
If we lose this game, we will be last in the group. his will reflect in the seeding for the next qualifiers. We will be grouped with three tough teams !
Lwandamina has really messed up the team. The incoming coach should consider bringing back the 2012 AFCON winning team and maybe excluding only Himonde who has dissapered. The fresh blood has messed up the team. its bull shit for loosing the opportunity to go to AFCON
@ soccerfan, could anyone explain why Lwandamina fielded a weakened team of inexperienced players in Guinea; if not part of a conspiracy with Kalu to discredit the Kamanga executive. Lwandamina now sees it fit to field a stronger team in a game of no consequency! Kamanga and Ponga must wake up!
This team has really lost its mojo. I think this has been a low point due to the hangover of success experienced in 2012. The team came back home from that AFCON and players were expecting Europe to come knocking on their door. First you had the insurrection at TP Mazembe, where players suddenly thought they were too good for TP and decided to simply walk away and try to sign for whatever European club came knocking. Isaac Chansa in SA, where he was playing arguably the best football of his stellar career, Katongo in China, Mweene moving to Sundowns, Hichani, even Mayuka’s doomed move to Southampton. All these things factored into what then became the worst performance by Zambia in 2013 and the trend has continued.
Inactive players with a part time coach who quite frankly is just not the man to make this team work. Then we find ourselves in the same place we were back in 2004. The only way forward now is to do the following:
Short Term:
– Hire a coach (ASAP)
– Set up a plan for the U17,U20, U23 – find the right coaches
– Start preps for World Cup Qualifiers
Long Term
– Reintroduce the schools national team
– Develop a youth soccer league
– Continue to develop interest in the local league (TV, advertising, public events)
– Send some local coaches on courses in Europe – start to groom the next local national team coach. Back in the 80s, coaches were sent abroad to learn and earn licenses.
Zambian football is not dead, but it is clearly in a coma. If we don’t wake up, we will continue to dream of the world cup rather than be in it. I mean it is doable. I won’t lie, I thought I would be an old man by the time Zambia would be able to win AFCON, and they won it in a year when we were least expected to. It can be done, but there’s work to do.
