Copper Queens head coach Nora Elizabeth Häuptle will link up with the team in Algeria and will not travel to Zambia, The ZamFoot Crew understands
The COSAFA giants will leave for Algeria on Monday, July 13 for their international camp after spending the last two weeks in a local camp.
The ZamFoot Crew have learned that the Swiss tactician will join the team in Algeria for the final phase of preparations. Assistant Coach Charles Haalubono has been drilling the players during the local camp.
Zambia will proceed to North Africa next week where the team will be camped in Algeria for about two weeks and play two friendly games there before going on a chartered flight straight into Morocco.
The two friendly games against Algeria will be played on July 19th and 22nd before the two teams jet out to Morocco on the same flight.
At WAFCON, the Copper Queens have been drawn in Group C alongside defending champions Nigeria women’s national football team, regional rivals Malawi women’s national football team and Egypt women’s national football team.
The tournament will run from 26 July to 16 August in Morocco and will also serve as a qualifier for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Brazil, with four automatic qualification places available for African teams.
