Zambia Super League fans finally have some good news as they may return to the Stadium sooner rather than later.
This comes after Minister of Youth, Sport and Child Development, Honourable Emmanuel Mulenga directed all workers in his Ministry to expedite talks with the Ministry of Health to make sure fans return to the Stadium within the next few days.
Honorable Mulenga was speaking this morning at MultiChoice headquarters during the official launch of the 2020/2021 Super League season.
“At this moment I will instruct all workers in my ministry, the director of sport and everyone in the sports department to make sure that they expedite the conclusion of the discussions, It will be gratifying to see that doors are open to the fans within ten days from now so that people can watch the games,” Honorable Mulenga said.
The fans may however only return after week one as FAZ President Andrew Kamanga confirmed that the games will continue to be played behind closed doors until the Ministry of Health gives a go-ahead.
“We would like to appeal to the fans that they should take note that the games will be played behind closed doors until we are given authority by the misery of health to open up. Honorable minister, it’s our appeal again through your office that we try and expedite the process to allow the soccer fans into the stadium, We remain hopeful that this clearance will be given in due course as we continue to wait for the go-ahead,” he said.
The Zambia Super League is set to kick off this coming weekend with ten exciting matches set to take place across the country.
