Does Daka Need to Leave Leicester for the Good of His Career?

Patson Daka is one of the best Zambian international footballers ever to grace the English Premier League. He currently plays for Leicester City, who are languishing in 17th place in the league out of 20 teams.

The question being asked here is, does Daka need to leave Leicester for the good of his career?

Who is Patson Daka?

Patson Daka is a 24-year-old men’s professional football player born in Chingola, Zambia, in October 1998. The right-footed forward currently plays for English Premier League side Leicester City and wears the number 20 shirt.

His youth career began at Kafue Celtic in 2014, where he spent three years before joining the senior team in 2014. His big chance came in 2017 when he was spotted playing for Liefering in Austria by Red Bull Salzburg.

While playing for RB Salzburg in the top flight of Austrian football, he scored an incredible 54 goals in 82 games, which got the attention of EPL side Leicester City, who he joined in June 2021 on a five-year deal for a reported fee of £23 million.

His debut for Leicester City came on August 23rd, coming on as a sub for Harvey Barnes in a game they lost 4-1 to Premier League rivals West Ham United. He has also played for the Zambia men’s national team since 2015, playing 32 goals and scoring 9 goals for his country.

There are regular betting markets for Patson Daka with competitive odds and hundreds of Premier League betting markets at today’s most trusted sports betting Zambia websites. One of the best sites you can turn to for the latest Patson Daka/Premier League betting markets today is the official 10Bet website.

Does he need to go to another club to further his career?

Daka is currently in fine form. Since joining Leicester City, he has played 43 games and scored 15 goals. Leicester City are currently one place away from the relegation zone, and if they don’t manage to turn their season around and climb their way up the table, there’s a good chance they could end up fighting for survival in the Premiership.

The worst-case scenario for Leicester City is to get relegated from the Premier League to the Championship.

It would also be the worst thing for Patson Daka, so for some people who follow the young Zambian international, a move away from Leicester sooner rather than later would be a good move for his career, but where would he go?

Some people have said he would fit in nicely at Manchester United, and others have suggested Chelsea, Spurs, and even Brighton & Hove Albion. Where he ends up next, if he does decide to leave Leicester to further his career, is anybody’s guess at the time of writing.

Can Leicester finish in the top 10, or can the unthinkable happen, and they get relegated?

To better understand where Leicester City might finish at the end of the season, you may want to check the odds at some of Africa’s most highly recommended online bookmakers, such as 10bet.

For example, it’s not looking good for The Foxes. To finish the 2022/23 English Premier League in the top 10, you are currently looking at average odds of around 50/1 in the UK fractional odds format. In other words, they only have a 2.00% implied probability rate of actually finishing in the top 10.

When you convert 50/1 into the American/moneyline odds format, it equates to 5,000, and in the standard European decimal odds format, 50/1 is the same as saying 51.00. In comparison, Chelsea FC, who are currently in tenth place in the league, are priced at 1/20 in fractional odds to finish in the top 10.

This means that Chelsea have a whopping 95.20% chance of finishing in the top 10. If you prefer American/moneyline odds, 1/20 is -2,000; if you prefer decimal odds, it’s 1.05.

More of the latest odds

A much safer bet would be for Leicester to be relegated at the end of the season. They are the joint-third odds-on favourite team to be relegated, along with Wolves. The only two teams that are more likely to go down are West Ham and Crystal Palace.

For example, suppose you were to put your money on Leicester City (or Wolves) being relegated at the end of the season. In that case, you are currently looking at 7/2 odds, which means they have a 22.20% implied probability rate of going down. 7/2 in American/moneyline odds is 350, and in decimal odds, it’s 4.5. However, don’t forget that no bet is ever guaranteed.
