He’s new to the dugout, but hope is renewed at Dola Hill.
Forest Rangers Football Club have announced the appointment of Ronald Mukosha as their new head coach. Signing the 42-year-old to a two-year deal, Rangers have tasked the former Zambia international with leading their charge for promotion back to the MTN Super League. The National League side will be hoping for instant success from Mukosha as they look to return to Zambia’s top tier at the first time of asking.
A Proven Leader Takes the Helm
Ronald Mukosha’s stock is on the rise around Zambia following an impressive tenure with Mutondo Stars. Most notably, Mukosha kept Mutondo in the MTN Super League during the 20 25-26 season. Having battled against relegation for the majority of the campaign, Mukosha steadied the ship by organizing his players and grinding out points when they mattered most. The survival earned Mukosha praise for his ability to keep calm and achieve results during tough times.
Forest Rangers Are Beginning Again
Former Rangers coach Boyd Mulwanda saw his contract with the club come to an end at the conclusion of last season. Forest Rangers thanked Mulwanda for his professionalism and dedication to the club before wishing him well for the future. The club has now turned its attention to Mukosha.
The club has praised Mukosha’s technical ability and knowledge, claiming he has all the leadership qualities necessary to take Forest Rangers onto the next level. Promotion is the expectation at Forest Rangers, and everything points to Mukosha delivering on that promise.
Back in the MTN Super League?
Forest Rangers finished fifth in last season’s National League, missing out on promotion. Forest Rangers ended the season on 58 points according to the analysis of Zambian sports insiders, Bettingtop10 Zambia, finishing just six points off Roan United, who clinched the final available spot in the MTN Super League.
While there is disappointment at missing out, Mukosha now has the foundation of a team capable of taking one step forward and finishing fifth. If Forest Rangers can click into gear sooner rather than later, they’ll be difficult to stop.
A Seasoned Manager
Over the years, Mukosha has built up valuable experience coaching around Zambia. Early experiences at Kalulushi Modern Stars and Geokas were followed by stints at Lumwana Radiants and champions Dual Threeuns. Most recently, Mukosha has coached at Mutondo Stars, where he led the team to promotion in his first season.
Ronald Mukosha is not afraid of a challenge. The coach has never shied away from difficult situations and has spent his managerial career so far learning how to build winning teams from the ground up. Forest Rangers should be expecting nothing less than total commitment from Mukosha as he looks to lead them back to the MTN Super League.
Hope Returns to Ndola
Forest Rangers have enjoyed success in Zambia’s top flight football in the past and will be looking to add to this legacy once again. A return to the MTN Super League would be a huge boost for football in Ndola, as fans continue to eagerly support Forest Rangers.
If Mukosha can inspire his squad to believe they can win every game, then there’s no reason why Rangers can’t compete with the best teams in Zambia once again.
Welcome to Forest Rangers, Ronald Mukosha.
