The Zambia Women’s National Team will face Zimbabwe in the first semi-final of the 2023 Hollywoodbets COSAFA Women’s Championship.
This follows Zimbabwe’s 1-1 draw with Botswana in their group C match to finish top of their pool with seven points.
Zimbabwe took the lead four minutes into the match as they won a corner-kick, and it was Priviledge Mupeti who found Ennety Chemhere, who headed home the opener in the opening five minutes to give her side the lead.
The Mares levelled matters five minutes to time as Balothanyi Johannes scored her second goal of the tournament.
The Zambia/Zimbabwe fixture will kick-off at 12h00 at the Lucas Moripe stadium on Friday 13 October, 2023 and will be followed by the second semi-final involving Malawi and Mozambique.
Defending champions Zambia booked their semi-final ticket after finishing group B as winners with seven points while Zimbabwe were winners of group C with the same number of points.
Malawi won group A while Mozambique was the best-placed finisher after three rounds of matches played.
