Copper Queens thrash Comoros to set up semifinal blockbuster with Malawi

The Zambia Women’s National Team thrashed Comoros 7-0 to finish top of group C and  qualify to the semifinals of the ongoing COSAFA Women’s Championship.

ZESCO Ndola Girls’ forward Fridah Mukoma scored a hat-trick in the emphatic win on Tuesday afternoon.

Ochumba Oseke Lubanji chipped in with a brace to make up for her first half missed penalty. Regina Chanda and Charity Mubanga also contributed a goal each.

Meanwhile Mozambique qualified for the last four by topping Group D with four points after a dramatic late equaliser from Cidalia Cuta in their final game against Lesotho that ended 1-1.

Nthabeleng Potsane scored the opener for Shalane Lehohla’s side, which actually took Zimbabwe temporarily to the top of the pool on head-to-head.
