Zambia National Team coach Aggrey Chiyangi says the team has settled in well in Eswatini ahead of the final round first leg encounter in the African Nations Championship (CHAN) 2020 Qualifiers this Sunday.
Speaking during the team’s afternoon training session, Chiyangi said the team was looking sharp ahead of the encounter against the Shilangu.
“So far so good, at least everyone is settled, even those that arrived this morning. They had a rest in the morning, we trained in the afternoon. Everyone is looking good we are only now waiting for the two guys who arrive in the evening, by tomorrow we will have the full team training, which will be very good,” Chiyangi said.
Chiyangi said the response from the players in the team was encouraging before the qualifier match against Eswatini this weekend. He described the mood in the camp as positive and stressing that all the players were in good form.
“So far the application has been very good, very good attitude, despite others coming this morning, I think they have done very well. The commitment is there, we are very happy that everyone is looking very positive,” Chiyangi said.
Chiyangi said he was happy with the fitness levels of the players as most of the players picked were playing at their respective Super League sides and said it is easy to work with the players who are playing regular football at club level. He said the team will be in good sharp for the match this weekend.
“The league is on and all the players that we have picked are playing in their clubs, which helps us to maintain their fitness levels. So far, everyone is looking ready,” Chiyangi revealed.
The 2019 COSAFA winning coach Chiyangi said his side will work hard to pick a positive result and has promised the fans a positive result on Sunday against Eswatini who was recently kicked out of the 2022 Qatar World Cup qualifiers by Djibouti.
“We will do everything possible to ensure that our people back home are happy, to those that will be here to support us, we just want to say that, we are going to make that we work very hard and get the positive results,” Chiyangi said.
Zambia eliminated Botswana 3-2 in the previous round of qualifiers while Eswatini dumped Angola out to set up a date against the Chipolopolo Boys in the final round.
The Chipolopolo who finished third in the inaugural CHAN tournament in 2009 will play Eswatini on Sunday before hosting them at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola on 19th October 2019.
