CAF CC: Nkana walloped in Ghana as Kotoko go second

Asante Kotoko 3-0 Nkana (A Fatawu 4′ E Gyamfi 23, M Antwi 26′)

Nkana FC were on Sunday evening bashed 3 – 0 by Asante Kotoko in a game played in Kumasi.

All the goals in the game came in the first half and despite re-organizing, Nkana failed to come back in the game.

Nkana went into the game leading group C on 6 points but they have since fallen to 3rd position after a disastrous day that also saw Zesco United beaten 3 – 1 by Al Hilal.

The biggest talking point of the match was the performance of goal keeper Allan Chibwe.

  1. Useless clubs! Surely both Zesco & Nkana can not even seek a draw.

Anyway at least Nkana shared the spoils but team ya Ziko surely, malabishi yeka yeka

  2. I dont think that the coach for zesco knows what he is doing. Both nkana and zesco wont proceed beyond this stage. Very poor strategy, long searching balls with strikers finding themselves in wrong places. No long range shots at goal as usual.

  3. Zesco worsting moneny buying players . Try hiring Moses Sichone the gentleman is well qualified and has played in African as well as Europe

  4. That Nkana goal keeper should not be any where near the Nkana starting line up.He should be shunted to the reserves for that disastrous goal keeping in Kumasi!

  5. I don’t know what happened to the goal keeper. Chibwe is usually cool in goal but something seems to have gotten hold of him. I dont know, he was not himself. We can’t judge him by one bad game. Strange things happen in soccer especially in Africa. Remember TP Mazembe 8-0 win over Club Africain?. The coaches should learn to psych the players.

In the first half Nkana were very slow an sluggish and sleepy but in the second half they picked up pace but it was too late.

Asante Kotoko surprised me. They looked ordinary when they came to Zambia. But at their home ground they were very aggressive and seemed like they had a good plan for Nkana.

I thought Kelvin Kampampa would have made a difference.Surprisingly there crosses were not coming through for Sate Sate. As a result he looked lost in the first half. I dont know what strategy the coach decided to use but it failed in the first half.

This is a tough grouo and if you don’t create chances you cant score!

  6. Asante Kotoko is a good football team, nkana were able to beat them in Zambia only with the help of the match officials
