Zanaco FC will play Raja Casablanca of Morocco in the penultimate round of the 2018 CAF Confederations Cup Group stage.
According to the draws made yesterday by CAF, Zanaco will host the Moroccans in the first leg fixture on 6th April before travelling to Casablanca on 17th April.
In the 2017 Champions league group stage, Zanaco played another Moroccan side Wydad Casablanca who they beat at home 1 – 0 before losing away with a similar margin.
Zanaco dropped into the CAF second tier competition after losing to Mbabane Swallows at home and away in the first round and will be looking to pick themselves up for a place in the group stage.
Raja Casablanca beat Nouadhibou of Mauritania 5 – 3 on aggregate after drawing 1 – 1 at home in the Confederations Cup.

This Raja Casablanca assignment looks even harder for ZANACO than the tie against Mbabane Swallows. But being a Zambian team which only performs better when the chips are down, we hope they will excel this time around.
well said!
Zanaco haven’t got a chance! You can’t fail to beat a team of part-timers from Swaziland and hope to beat an Arab side. That is day dreaming.
We are out in as fa as Zanaco are concerned.
Tough one. Honestly, it’s hard to see ZANACO win this one.
Zanaco can still make it. All they need is a positive mind set.
I really believe Zanaco has all that it takes to come victorious.
