Where on earth…My team is in Pre-season, Don’t expect good football says Lwandamina

Zesco United coach George ‘Chicken’ Lwandamina said it was impossible for his team to play good football as they are still in their pre-season phase at the moment.

Lwandamina said he needed to follow what’s laid down for him as coach and that they were no short cuts in football. According to the former Chipolopolo boss, The Ndola giants have not completed their six weeks pre-season cycle.

“This is football, I have no excuse to make. This is still within the 6 weeks of pre-season. The boys played very well. These guys (TP Mazembe) are active in the league, If you saw their co-ordinatiom was way better than us. Our boys are just coming from holiday and you want them to play good football, Where on earth?,” he said.

“Am a trained coach and not a bush one, I have to follow what is laid down for me to follow. There are no short cuts in football, ” he added.

TP Mazembe legend Tresor Mputu levelled matters three minutes into the second half after Lazarus Kambole had put Zesco United in the lead 12 minutes into the first half.

The result meant Zesco United were eliminated from the Competition 2-1 on aggregate and relegated to the Confederation Cup.

  1. Lwandamina must not give excuse for the team’s failure to proceed to the next stage in CAF champions league, citing pre-season. This is unacceptable, for our coaches. this was the case even for ZANACO at some point. The zambian coaches know that these games begin when were are off season, so there is need to plan. He must say he failed to read the game, he made a wrong substitution…he could not even be seen standing to encourage the team. Real men accept their mistakes. the team was in top form but the coach could not use them well….

  2. Veery useless excuse he didn’t know there in the caf champions league?
What laid down procedure is he talking about when they failed to coordinate, the team didn’t have a balance between midfilders and strikers?
These guys most of them are paid well including chicken by zesco it is so unprofessional to give lousy excuses insteaded of conceding defeat.
The Congolese league is nothing to write home about there just 2or3 teams the rest are below par its only seriousness and professionalism Mazembe has put in place that has made them successful!
