Zesco Utd set to receive $250, 000 transfer fee for Jesse Were from Tunisian side.

Zesco United striker Jesse Were is on the verge of joining Tunisian side Club African, Zambianfootball.co.zm can exclusively reveal.

And the Tunisian giants is believed to have tabled a transfer fee in the region of $250, 000 but Zesco United is yet to sanction the deal.

According to the ZamFoot Crew sources in Tunisia, the Kenyan striker has been offered monthly salary of $10, 000.

“The player (Jesse) is just waiting for Zesco and Club Africain to agree on the transfer fee,” a ZamFoot Crew source said from Tunis on Thursday night.

While Zesco United have agreed in principle for Were to leave for North Africa, the Ndola side is holding out for a Zambian transfer record fee.

Zesco’s argument is that Were has CAF Champions League experience compared to Nkana striker Walter Bwalya.

While Nkana have said Bwalya is not for sale, they are believed to have slapped a $300, 000 transfer fee on the 24 league goals top scorer.

Bwalya doesn’t have Champions League experience and that’s the reason why the Ndola side are willing to let their top scorer at over $350, 000.

The lanky Kenyan hitman finished last season with 15 league goals and his 4 goals helped Zesco United reach the CAF Champions League semi final.

He has been linked with moves to Tanzanian side Young Africans while South African side Ajax Cape Town was put off by the mega transfer fee, Zesco ‘Team Ya Ziko’ demanded for.

  1. To be homnest Were and Walter are not worth more than $ 150,000 each. My advise to both Zesco and Nkana is take the $250,000 and run for your bollocks, b4 theclubs change their minds!
