Namibia coach Ricardo Manetti can’t wait his side’s Saturday’s CHAN 2018 quarter final clash against host Morocco.
“
Now that we know that are playing Morocco I do not think that we should be under any pressure as Namibia the stadium is going to be packed (80, 000), my players are going to enjoy the occasion, they will love it,” he said.
“We are tired of playing in empty stadiums, we deserve playing in the quarterfinals and we deserve to play before a full stadium. I am looking forward to play Morocco on Saturday.”
The Namibia coach said that his team had harboured a secret motivation to return to the resort city of Marrakech.
“Let me tell you a secret, my players loved Marrakech, the main motivation to win the game tonight was because they wanted to go back to Marrakech,” Manetti said.
“They loved the city and staff at the hotel. And I told them to go back to Marrakech they needed to be on top of the group. I think that was a little bit disappointing. If I tell them about the huge turn out on Saturday they are going to be head over heels.”
Zambia and Namibia qualified to the quarterfinals ahead of Ivory Coast and Uganda.
The two sides shared the spoils to end on seven points apiece but Zambia top the pool thanks to a superior goal difference.

I love his confidence. Best of luck to them
Was that a dig against the Morrocan F.A or indirectly asking CAF to carefully consider the next hosts. A country that can create a proper atmospher in stadiums.
Nonetheless, great motivator. He trusts his boys to do the job & you can see that in their attitude towards the game.
Good team and good coach Namibia.
This coach wanted his team to meet Sudan avoiding the host nation, now he changed goal posts snd wants to play in a full stadium against Morocco. Eish…uyadelela wena coach.Sizo kushaya nes bum. Wow my Zulu is pretty good
Aka ka coach kama chiki sana,me not worried about the result let him not be fooled the chipos he will met in march or there about is made up mostly of under 20 am sure he’s heard and watched the young lads before.
Confident Coach. His team actually outplayed Zambia.
@ Sibs true, he has drilled his troupes well enough to hundle any team.
I give him respect because I have seen most of those guys play in the UNAM league (international students would form teams and compete) during my school days at the University of Namibia. The Namibian team on campus had most of those guys featuring in the games between 2008 – 2012.
In my opinion he has over achieved and credit goes to him and his technical team.
@Bsimms. Good one. I believe they have had no soccer League in Namibia for two years now.
