Chipolopolo National team Coach Sven Vanderbroek has stated that giving him up-to 2022 would be the most logical thing to do given his plans.
Coach Sven highlighted that they have some analysis to do before the game in March but also noted it was too soon to hint on most of the plans going forward.
“I think logic would say go until the 2022 World Cup. I think that is a logic project. There are two Africa Cups one you can already eliminate, but there is U23 AFCON next year and Olympics. I think that is a beautiful project to work with although I cannot step in with choices but we will there to see what is happening,” he said.
The Belgian has also called for a more radical approach towards recruiting and taping of talent across the country suggesting that scouts should be set up in Ndola and Lusaka respectively.
The Belgian-born trainer has bemoaned the lack of basic technology for local coaches. He stated that most Zambian coaches are doing a good job but they need to adjust to the use of technology during trainings and games.
Sven has noted that though the technology may be expensive for some clubs to afford it was a necessity. Sven feels Zambia needs to invest more in beefing up it’s technical aspect of the game than the physical.
“Most Zambian coaches that have talked to don’t even know how to use the computer .I taught Chintu how to use and interpret GPS.He is a dedicated man but lacks the knowledge of a physical trainer hence I opted for him to be my assistant,” he said.
The Coach was speaking during an interactive media meeting in Kitwe at Garden Court on Sunday, December 9th.

Mr Kamanga the FAZ President needs to work up and realize that if we are not careful this National Soccer Team Coach is just here to make money and has lined up very expensive plans of how he is going to do it. He has embarked on a program of giving empty promises to Zambians so that he buys more time as we continue paying him hefty salary monthly at the expense of a poor Zambian tax payer. Chris this is a major setback with us Zambians we fail to apply logic to issues I am not supporting Sven I don’t like what I have seen in Him but I support his analyses of our inabilities 100%. If we were to implement what He is saying Zambian soccer would be a marvel to watch, look at at Shonga very talented but lacks the technical aptitude in finishing which should have been enhanced when He was young.
Further, what is $10,000.00 when other Countries are paying ten times His Salary. Utunwa twesu cost us the AFCON because we chased WADA prematurely look now time is vindicating Him what a shame! I said it on this blog but we have bloggers whose mouths are nailed with insults.
