Zambian international striker completes free-agent move to Austrian Bundesliga side after helping SC Austria Lustenau secure promotion.
Chipolopolo forward Jack Lahne has joined Austrian Bundesliga outfit Wolfsberger AC on a free transfer, signing a contract that will keep him at the club until 2028.
The 25-year-old arrives at Wolfsberger after leaving fellow Austrian side SC Austria Lustenau, where his contract expired at the end of the season.
Lahne enjoyed an impressive spell with Lustenau, scoring 12 goals in 43 appearances and playing a significant role in the club’s promotion.
Born in Zambia but holding Swedish citizenship, the striker joined Lustenau in January 2025 after beginning his professional career with Swedish outfit IF Brommapojkarna before moving to French club SC Amiens.
He subsequently had several loan spells before establishing himself at Lustenau, earning recognition for his performances in Austrian football.
Wolfsberger sporting director Manfred Schmid expressed confidence in the forward’s qualities, highlighting his pace and finishing ability as key attributes that would strengthen the club’s attacking options.
“I know Jack from his time in Lustenau. Then the opportunity arose for a trial training session, where he impressed us,” Schmid said.
“With his speed and finishing ability, he brings a lot to the table that we need for our playing style and represents a great addition to our attack.”
Lahne, who will wear the number 82 shirt, expressed delight at completing the move and is eager to make his first appearances for the club.
“I’m very happy that the move to Wolfsberg worked out. I was already at the stadium for the game against Sturm Graz and now I want to help the team as soon as possible,” he said.
“I’m really looking forward to my first appearances in front of our own fans!”
The move presents Lahne with an opportunity to continue his development in Austrian football while strengthening his profile as Zambia prepares for its upcoming international assignments.
