Zambia National Team coach Sven Vandenbroek is alive to the fact that the game against Mozambique is a must a win.
The former Cameroon assistant coach is however concerned with the lack of mental strength in his players. Sven believes is a general Zambia thing as people in the country are too ‘nice’.
“it’s a must win for both teams. On one hand it’s an easy task. We can’t afford a draw. It will be a difficult task on the pitch,” he said.
“Am confident in the skills of the players and in the way we played but I feel Zambian people generally are too nice hence players lack the mental strength to overcome difficult situations during a game,” he added.
The Copper bullets boss reveled that he would like to see more aggressiveness from his players.
” We too kind in not making necessary fouls in the game. I would like to see some more aggressiveness,” he said.
Sven has refused to bank on past glory which shows that Mozambique has been a good hunting ground for Chipolopolo. He is however expecting a tough match come Sunday 18th November.
“That’s three and seven years ago, Statistically yes it’s an advantage but the circumstances and the squads are different. I can’t compare the level of Mozambique then and now. Personally it does not interest me, ” he said.
“I expect a tight game. We will close the game not to concede in the beginning of the match, ” he added.
Zambia will face Mozambique on Match day 5 a team that beat them by a lone goal on Match day one.
Zambian players need to get serious when playing for Zambia, more especially the so called pros playing in Europe, South Africa and DR Congo. These guys have football as their profession and as such we Zambian soccer fans and the coach expect them to add value to the team. Any player whose profession is football should be able to contribute likewise anything less should not be condoned. The coach has to start speaking in capital letters by telling these players facts right in their faces. It can’t be right that Zambia has to start struggling to qualify to AFCON, which is a thing of the past. Profession players that are useless should be deemed surplus to requirement and be dropped
It is shocking that players like Enock Mwepu and Patson Daka are always on the bench with Daka being left out of the team last week (Mwepu started on the bench). Chilufya is Sweden is struggling to get into the first team, always on the bench. My message to Chilufya is that! Pull up your socks boy or else you will end up like Boyd Mwila and Edwin who played in Sweden and ended up as nothing, despite the fact that they joined their former club as teenagers
Pull up your socks imwe baiche otherwise you risk being offloaded
i have my doubts with mweene and kalaba. i dont think these two are up to the pace off the game anymore. in otherwords they are finished. but generally the rest of the selection looks okay. NOW coming to the main issue, that is scoring. if zambia plays the usual game of knocking the ball around and skyrocket the ball in front of the goal post we are out. i do not know if the squad, any zambian national football squad has ever has a shooting practice in their life. but this is what they need to do. to learn how to put the ball between the posts.
“I expect a tight game. We will close the game not to concede in the beginning of the match, ” he added.
AM GLAD WHAT HE COACH ADDED WERE MERE MIND GAMES BECAUSE ATTACK ATTACK ATTACK IS THE LANGUAGE FOR BOTH:
1. SVEN + CHIPOLOPOLO; and
2. SHEPOLOPOLO.
This sunday the country expects more than just a draw from the two encounters.
