Supersport faces backlash over the use of AI Camera for Zambian Super League matches

Fans have raised concerns over the poor quality of footage of the Zambian Super League matches being televised by South African Pay TV, DSTV on their Supersport Channel.

It has now emerged that Supersport have opted to use a single AI Camera as opposed to the six HD cameras they have been using.

“We don’t know if it’s cost saving or not but this is becoming laughable,” a ZamFoot Crew said

“Surely how do use an AI Camera for the league games.

There has been poor quality in terms of sound and footage.

Fans have also complained about lack of replays as well as the visuals freezing.

“Maybe they also been affected by loading shedding.

Last season, Supersport dropped the half time analysis team in a cost saving measure.

DSTV has also shut down some of their customers service centres across the country.

The use of an AI Camera is not new in Zambia as a number of clubs use it for tactical and scouting players.

Clubs like Zanaco, Aguila Stars, Sporting Lusaka, Kafue Celtic and Atletico Lusaka have been using Veo Cameras for their league matches in the last few years.
