Sunzu signs for French Ligue 2 side Metz

Zambia’s African Cup of Nations winning centre back Stoppila Sunzu has returned to France after spending 18 months in Russia on loan at Arsenal Tula.

The 29 year old has signed for French Ligue 2 Metz from Ligue 1 side Lille.

The Chililabombwe born has been reunited with his former Lille coach Frederic Antonetti  who is now in charge of Metz.

This will be the fourth French side Sunzu will be playing for after spells at Chateauroux, Sochaux and Lille.

The towering centre back who scored the winning penalty in the 2012 African Cup of Nations final against Ivory Coast has also played in China and Tp Mazembe.

The Afrisport graduate has also featured for Konkola Blades and Zanaco in Zambia.
