According to a report on CNN Israel’s military says it is ramping up its aerial bombardment of Gaza and has once again called for civilians to leave northern parts of the strip.
Israeli troops clashed with Hamas fighters inside the Palestinian enclave on Sunday.
With the Israel, Hamas War ragging on, the World’s popular sport, Football has not been left out with Zambian interest in that country.
The Israeli Premier League saw all weekend games postponed two weeks ago owing to the security concerns felt across the country.
Tel Aviv and Jerusalem, home to four top-flight teams, were among those cities to be hit with rocket attacks across the first weekend of the war.
All foreign players and staff were told they would be free to flee Israel, among them Maccabi Tel Aviv head coach Robbie Keane.
Zambian trio Richard Ngoma, Chipyoka Songa and defender Gift Mphande are expected to be back home as soon as possible as the league will go on indefinite recess.
Songa is on the books of Hapoel Rishon Lezion while Mphande features for Nes Tziona.
Erez Kalfon, the chairman of the Israel Football League administration, said the inability to train as groups had for now made a resumption impossible. “We are in one of the most difficult times the state of Israel has ever known,” he said.
Earlier this month UEFA postponed all matches scheduled to take place in Israel over a two-week period after.
That included Israel’s match against Switzerland in the 2024 European Championship qualifying at Tel Aviv’s Bloomfield Stadium.

So good to know this
Dear Sir/Madam,
It is disheartening to read, courtesy to Zamfoot, that some Zambian soccer players are ready to leave Israel due to the Hamas attacks on Isreali civilian infrastructure. And as such, will not be playing soccer for their clubs.
It is a well known fact that soccer leagues and soccer matches are not cancelled or suspended or even postponed because of terrorist attacks.
Thus it is honest to note that the same Israel based Zambian players probably just failed a key loyalty vet as regards their professional soccer careers in Isreal.
Loyalty is one of the biggest requirements in any career especially in a sporting career.
Also, in every country, sporting infrastructure is very well guarded by the military services.Otherwise, honestly thought and honestly written, terrorists would be blowing up sports facilities rather than corporate offices because sports facilities are easy and simple military targets. This true even for cheap and delapidated sporting facilities like the ones found in Africa.
On another note, Corporate ownership of sports clubs; and sports scholarships; and sports sponsorships; and Corporate ownership of sports facilities; is still lacking at the grassroots in any sport both when considered from a global perspective and also from a local viewpoint. This is very serious and unhealthy.
Business must never be limited to cities or to urbanised areas in any regard. Thus this set of new business opportunities must be quickly developed into full flegded profitable businesses.
For example, local 1st, 2nd, 3rd and amatuer leagues provide an excellent illustration in this matter. This is true for every sport in any regard.
This is all very new but I hope that these dreams;-investment and business and otherwise, outlined here materialise.
