Score a lot of goals , Chambeshi urges his strikers

Zambia U23 national team head coach Beston Chambeshi has urged his strikers to be clinical when they host Congo Brazzaville on Wednesday, September 4th in the first leg of their Egypt 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.

Chambeshi wants the tie to be killed off in the first leg and is hoping that the team can score at least three goals. Chambeshi believes he has the players that can deliver.

“Am happy with the defense. The strikers just have to pull up their socks and make sure we hurry the game from here. We looking to get a good result and maybe score three or four goals it will be good for us to lessen pressure. We have the players who can do the work,” Chambeshi told the ZamFoot Crew.

The Foreign-based players are expected to start trooping in on Saturday. Chambeshi says he has received a lot of information on the Red Devils of Congo Brazzaville and feels they should be respected.

“By Saturday we may have three players and by Sunday we may have a full house, FAZ has assured us, ” he said.

“I have received a lot of information though I have not seen them physically we have to just prepare well from here and make sure the boys are ready. We have to respect Congo to reach this far means they are a good side and am sure they know us because we are not a small team. We just have to be ready for them. ”

Two of the U23 players Patson Daka and Enock Mwepu who play their club football in Austria for Redbull Salzburg will be competing in the group stages of the UEFA Champions League and Chambeshi believes it is a good thing to have them playing at such a level.

” We happy as a nation to have our boys playing at that level which is good for even as coaches as it shows that we are working. Those are key players and we hope they can maintain that level of play,” he said.

Zambia will play the first leg at home on September 4th at Heroes Stadium while the return leg will be in Pointe Noire on September 8. The tickets for the September 4 tie are already on sale via Computicket in all Shoprite outlets with VIP pegged at K250, WEST at K100 while the rest of the Stadium is going at K20.

The winner over two legs will qualify to the 2019 AFCON that will be hosted by Egypt in November. The top three teams at the tournament will qualify to the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
