With the Chipolopolo out of the race to the 2017 Gabon Africa Cup of Nations tournament, Zambia will turn attention to the World Cup qualifiers which resume after draws on Friday.
Excitement continues to grow as 20 African teams await the draw for the third round of the African Zone qualifiers for the 2018 FIFA World Cup™, which will take place in Cairo, Egypt on 24 June.
The seeded teams and the four pots for the draw have been defined on the basis of aspecial edition of the FIFA/Coca-Cola World Ranking for African teams dated 7 June, as per the decision of the Emergency Bureau for the FIFA World Cup Qualifiers of 22 June 2016.
The ranking has determined the four pots and the five seeds as follows:
Pot 1: Algeria, Côte d’Ivoire, Ghana, Senegal, Tunisia
Pot 2: Cape Verde Islands, Egypt, Congo DR, Nigeria, Mali
Pot 3: Cameroon, Morocco, Guinea, South Africa, Congo
Pot 4: Uganda, Burkina Faso, Zambia, Gabon, Libya
The teams in Pot 4 will be drawn first. The team drawn first from Pot 4 will be placed in Group A, and its exact position in the group will be determined by a ball drawn from a second pot that will contain four balls with the position numbers 1-4.
The team drawn second from Pot 4 will be placed in Group B, and its position in the group will also be determined by a ball drawn from the second pot. The team drawn third will be placed in Group C, and its position drawn from the second pot. The team drawn fourth will be placed in Group D, and its position drawn from the second pot. Finally, the team in the last ball in Pot 4 will be placed in Group E, and its position will again be drawn from the second pot.
This very same procedure will then be applied for Pot 3, then for Pot 2, and finally for Pot 1. When the last ball containing the name of the final team in Pot 1 has been drawn and its position in Group E has been confirmed by drawing the last remaining ball in the second pot, the draw will be concluded.

We have talent in Zambia and i believe FAZ is putting the house in order, i can assure Zambians that we will surprise everyone by qualifying for Russia 2018.
This is just by knowing the player we have and it is just us Fans to lift them up, that is by encouraging them and not just talking rubbish, Real fans don’t talk rubbish to their players and FA but understand that you can’t be winning all the time, if you are losing then you need plan B.
Look at how many old players in the team, how is the coach, is everyone doing his job and how is our development and if that is fixed it is only 2 years will have a good team again.
Lets support FAZ and not just throwing stones to our president and co, its not only us suffering look at teams like Netherlands,Brazil etc.

There is no proof of any nichekeleko syndrome. However, from the way Patrick Phiri has handled 2 clubs and excelled, namely Nakambala Leopards and Forest Rangers, am convinced that he is the right man for this job at the moment. Copy and Paste the technical bench of Forest Rangers to the national team.
Patrick has proved his ability to change average players to learn to play as a unit and deliver results. These teams learned to play compact and focused to delivering and grinding down results when push comes to shove. Thats what you need at the national team.
Am seeing the character of one Herve Renard and Jose Mourino in Patrick Phiri.

So far, in the last 5 games in the ZPL, Forest Rangers has been rated the BEST PERFORMING FOOTBALL TEAM. That should tell you volumes of the calibre of their coach.

I see a repeat of 2005 group of Senegal, Congo, Zambia and Mali. Faz seem not to be ready for the qualifiers. This is the time they should have searched for a long term foreign coach. I have watched the team. It’s not bad. It needs beefing up and psyching up the players. Mambwe Phiri, Fwayo Tembo, Walter Bwalya and a few others need to be looked at. Players should also die a little in the national jersey.
Everyone stop dreaming about new foreign coach, FAZ is broke, unless supporters can donate to pay salary every month.
