Ronald Kampamba pens emotional farewell message to Nkana

Striker Ronald ‘Sate Sate’ Kampamba has penned an emotional farewell letter to his boyhood club Nkana following his departure from Chilata.

Kampamba says leaving Nkana has been the hardest decision he has had to make in his life.

The Landlord Left Kalampa following the expiration of his contract.

“MY HEARTFELT GOODBYE TO MY CHILDHOOD CLUB

It is with overwhelming emotion that I wish to announce my departure from the team that I love wholeheartedly, Nkana Football Club “Kalampa”.

This has been the toughest decision of my life, but I have always pictured leaving Kalampa on the right terms, in the right way, and at the right time and I think that now is the right time. My contract with Nkana has expired and having spent five more seasons following my second return to the Wusakile side, I have decided to seek a new challenge even after the Nkana management and my father; Coach Beston Chambeshi and his technical team tried very hard to convince me to stay at Chilata.

My ambition as a Wusakile Township little boy in C Road was to become a Nkana player and flag my childhood team’s flag high. I leave my beloved Kalampa a very fulfilled and grateful professional footballer, having been accorded the opportunity to fulfill my childhood dream.

Joining as a schoolboy at the very young age of 12, in 2007, to representing Nkana and Zambia in CAF competitions as a teenager, and then moving to Wadi Degla in Egypt and subsequently Belgium, before trekking back to my Kalampa, shows that indeed I am a son of Nkana and I am proud to be one.

This club has been my life; it has given me the platform to compete against the best not only in the Zambian league but also in the continent. With the support from the past chairpersons (presidents) to the current president, this Club has allowed me to fulfill my professional desire as a player. I would like to thank past presidents; Mr. John Chiwele, Mr. Everisto Kabila, Mr. Joseph Silwamba, and Mr. Chikusi Banda, and their respective boards for working tirelessly to develop the Club both on and off the pitch.”

Kampamba has gone on to thank the technical bench and the fans of Nkana for the unconditional love and support shown to him.

“To the technical bench, allow me to say thank you to all coaches that I have been through whilst at Nkana. To the current coach whom I consider my father, I will forever be grateful for the role you have played in my career and as a person. A huge thank you to my teammates for not only having been teammates but as friends and family, and having gone shoulder to shoulder in many battles with you has been an honor.

My greatest gratitude goes to the RED FAMILY, Ba Nkana, imwe LIKULU. I don’t know how to put into words the love I have for you Nkana supporters. The support you have given me all these years has been phenomenal. From being called SATE SATE to becoming the LANDLORD. You have been my inspiration in my journey as I donned the Nkana colors. Thank you my beloved Nkana family for the unconditional love and support you have given me.

Wearing the Nkana JERSEY has been without any doubt one of the proudest achievements of my life. It is my hope and prayer that I have been able to live to your expectations as a Nkana player. I know that our paths will cross again soon. Goodbye ba Nkana, Mweba RED, mwebabako.

To my family, the Kampambas, you have been my rocks throughout my Nkana stay and please continue supporting me in my new journey. I remember the days as a schoolboy when Nkana officials would have to get permission from you mom and dad so that I could go and feature in a Nkana match. Your support has been out of this world and I am so grateful. Thank you for allowing me to chase my dream over all these years at Nkana. I know your hearts just like mine; will always be RED no matter what.

Wishing you all God’s blessings and favor. I remain yours. Ronald “Sate Sate Landlord” Kampamba.”

Kampamba first joined Nkana in 2007 at the age of 12, and stayed at the Kitwe giants’ side for eight (8) continuous years before making a move to the Egyptian side Wadi Degla in 2015 and also had a short stint at the then Belgian side, Lierse S.K.   Kampamba returned to Nkana at the end of the 2016 soccer season.

Kampamba was part of the team that won;  1. League Title- 2013 and 2019/20  2. ABSA Cup (Barclays)- 2018 3. Charity Shield- 2014, 2018, 2019, and 2020    At a personal level while at Nkana, Kampamba’s achievements include; 1. Zambian League Top Scorer- 2012–2013, 2013–2014 2.
