Lwandamina to announce Zambia squad within 72 hours

Chipolopolo interim head coach George ‘Chicken’ Lwandamina is expected to announce his provisional squad within the next 72 hours for Zambia’s crucial 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, the ZamFoot Crew understands.

Lwandamina is expected to bolster his squad with players from continental football campaigners Power Dynamos and Red Arrows, who were unavailable for the national team’s first training camp last month.

Power Dynamos trio of Willard Mwanza, Lawrence Mulenga, and Dominic Chanda, Red Arrows’ Luka Mainza and Abraham Siakombo of ZESCO United are also among those expected to be included in the squad.

The Chipolopolo are expected to regroup over the weekend as preparations intensify for their back-to-back Group I qualifiers.

Zambia will travel to Algiers to face Algeria on 25 September before returning home to host Togo four days later at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola.

The Chipolopolo are in Group I alongside Algeria, Togo and Burundi in the race for qualification to the 2027 AFCON, which will be co-hosted by Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania.

Tickets on sale for Togo clash

Tickets for Zambia’s home qualifier against Togo are already on sale, with supporters encouraged to secure their seats early.

The match is scheduled for Tuesday, 29 September 2026, with kick-off at 18:00 at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium.

It will be Zambia’s second match of the AFCON Pamoja 2027 qualifying campaign, coming three days after their opening fixture against Algeria in Algiers.

Fans can purchase tickets through the FAZ TechPay App, available on the Google Play Store for Android users. Tickets can also be bought online through the FAZ TechPay platform by both Android and iOS users.

With Zambia opening their qualifying campaign away from home, the Togo fixture will provide Lwandamina’s side with an important opportunity to collect maximum points in front of home support.
