Quotes from Chipolopolo coach Nyirenda’s email to FAZ Chief Kamanga

On Sunday night, the ZamFoot Crew  exclusively revealed that Chipolopolo Boys coach Wedson Nyirenda had dared FAZ President Andrew Kamanga to terminate and settle  his contract.

Below are quotes from Wada Wada’s email.

“It’s like your executive has made up their mind to fire me. The media statements being attributed to the FAZ makes it clear that I am not wanted. The best to do is you (FAZ) terminate my contract and settle me so that I find something else to do,”

The ZamFoot Crew also revealed that Wada Wada so no need the technical committee to review his performance.

“I don’t think there is need for technical review when you have already judged and made up your minds. You would be doing me a great favour if you terminated my contract. I have been injured for so long now and I am only human. We cannot go on pretending,”

  1. But why did FAZ give him a three year contract without any probation. i m not blaming Wada but the pipo who gave him a 3 year contract

  2. I knew it from the tone of the excepts of his email something tells me that the man was set up to fall some one within the systen might have been undermining him…..yayayayaya Zambia the same story iya mfuko, thats why it will take time to develop. This Kambwili style of leadership must stop, when your hand is on the plate your provider is an innocent soul but when they slide the plate away then you start revealing all the hidden nuggets! Why not say it when all is rosy so that we know that you are a man of integrity… the same with Kazala azala after being thrown out! I will never support these kind of leaders as they exhibit a very scary and toxic kind of leadership and they very dangerous eg Kambwili, Kazala.

  3. Wads you are just a pank….
Enough is enough, who do you think you are when all you do is to loss….Local coaches are not ready to coach the national team.

  4. Now I realise, why wada wada has been failing, .The system and the environment has not been conducive for him to work.Even if another coach was to come,he will work under a very toxic environment. Our football is in in trouble, Just look the tone of Wada, he says “Ave been injured ” and am just a human “.I understand him.

(1)At first, they summon him and they made changes on the coaching bench,
(2)Bearly two or three weeks, again they say, we want to review you.

It is like they are toasting, him like the wind throwing a piece of a leave.they Ave not dignified him.He will be needed in future.

    • You are spot KM. My view is that the coach has been unfairly treated! Its a blame game from his employers. Abrasive criticisms from bloggers and some fans too. To me, he has done fairly well looking at the time he has been with the team. Lets not be so quick to judge and fire. We are not guaranteed that an expatriate will come and turn things over night looking at the work culture at FAZ

  5. @ Luapula bize I don’t understand when you say he has done well looking at the time he has been with the team. Wada was appointed in 2016 and this is 2018, he is just short of two years on the job, that is a very long time. In this time he has won nothing, absolutely nothing!! Not even a tournament on home soil. I agree with you that an expatriate coach does not guarantee results but this cannot be an excuse not to release a coach who is not making any progress with the team.

@KM there are always two sides to a story these extracts are from only one side of the story, Wada’s side. Don’t take what he has said as gospel truth to the situation without first getting the view of the other side and weighing up who is justified in their argument and who is not.

    • @BigSteve 4rm SA, As I have said I do not support the inconsistences of the Coach but surely let us flip the other side of the coin there are a lot of of misdemeanors in FAZ and fairly speaking it is not reasonable to roast the Coach alone! The maladministration in FAZ is very subtle that the only head to chop is that of the Coach every time there is a problem, If I have not seen enough I would call for the Head of Wada Wada but latently somewhere somehow there is a deeper problem in FAZ which needs to be sorted out before the Coach is sacrificed!

  6. Bigsteve,!!!,i appreciate such kind of reasoning,But assuming you were the Coach, your employers call you to review your performance. After reviewing, yourself and your employers recommend changes on the coaching bench.Beary three weeks you are again called upon to review your performance. Is there logic in that?
Under such circumstances, it is unfair for your employers to treat you like thay. Why am I saying this?
There is no football association on earth which is directed by wise people to act like that.”you review the performance of the team and bearly, two to three weeks, then you say come again we want review you.

Is that proper use of authority? That is the abuse of power.Instead of summoning him again and again , it is better to terminate his contract in a respectful, peaceful and honourable manner.Let FAZ be decisive, and terminate his contract, rather than torturing him with such meetings.

Wadas, complaints are that, the indecision of FAZ is affecting him, which to me is right.FAZ should be decision, not hanging in balance.
Am not saying wada, should continue, no!,It is the indecision of FAZ which is not fair.Let wada know his future, so that he can plan well for his life.

The other Thing is, the happenings at FAZ indicate that, Coaching our national team is hard as stone, with this kind of environmental circumstances. It is becoming difficult for our players to give their best,The football association is very disorganised, and there is an intimidating atmosphere at FAZ. Even a seasoned Coach can find it hard to Coach our country.

For your own information my brother, more bad news is coming from FAZ,As for today

    • You rewind my clock to the past, where coaches were fired at will without consquences for FAZ. Then came Zies and Dario Bonetti who tought FAZ how to reason when hiring coaches and I thought someone learnt something. FAZ Nyirenda will be on your necks, just know that fools

West Germany Ted Virba (1977) was fired
England Brian Tiler (1978–80) Completed term)
Romania Ted Dumitru (1980–81) was fired

Germany Burkhard Ziese (1997–98) was fired
Italy Dario Bonetti (2010–11) was fired

  9. @Truth – Seleniko Twikale, I like your analysis, excellent keep it up! If one does not follow your analysis then they need medicine! For now lets go for an Expatriate Coach. For a period of over 5years our National Team has produced faint results; Because from 2014 we have had our own local coaches who have lamentably failed!!!
I Salute good ideas in Zambian football.

  10. The porblem here is that should Nyirenda be fired, FAZ or who ever is paying him would have to pay him the rest of the remaining contract. Nyirenda knows and that is why he is behaving the way he is. (should say I would do the same in order to teach tu FAZ a lesson)

Failing to pay him will mean Nyirenda taking the case to FIFA and FIFA will order FAZ to pay or face sanctions (Reference to the Dario Bonetti Vs FAZ case)

So FAZ are in it. Ba FAZ should have given Nyirenda a perfamnce based performance contract rather than a 3 year deal. 1 year probation with an option to extend for 2 years should the agreed targets be reached. Kaya

    • Thats a very good point. Performance based contracts are important and instead the man was given a blank check. FAZ is failing right now, and could have most definitely handled this whole thing so much better. They are hyper reactive and it is clear that the FAZ admin and the coach are on totally different pages.

  11. Wada behaviour should not be entertained by FAZ! Why pay him for insurboditation! Anywhere in the world a coach can not behave like spoilt child. Either Wada toys the line or he has fired himself. No wonder he kicks out players at will. He full is of himself. FAZ should just wait on him from the day he was summoned. After 14 days, Wada should be considered a deserter. Finish.

  12. IT IS VERY UNFORTUNATE THAT WE HAVE AN EXECUTIVE THAT CAN ALLOW SUCH NONSENSE…..IN FACT IS IS HERE IN ZAMBIA THAT WE SEE A COACH DARING HIS EMPLOYERS.ASK GHANA,NIGERIA,MOROCC,EGYPT,IVORY COAST,TOGO,SENEGAL ETC…..THEY WILL TELL YOU A STORY. A COACH WILL NEVER UTTER A SINGLE WORD AGAINST THE FOOTBALL FEDERATION LIKE THE CASE IS HERE IN ZAMBIA AND THE SO CALLED WADA IN PARTICULAR.THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE.IS THERE SOMETHING MAYBE THAT WE DO NOT KNOW THAT KAMANGA IS HIDING FROM US? PROBABLY THERE IS….HE SEEMS NOT SO COMFORTABLE TO DEAL WITH THIS WADA STERNLY.BUT AS A PRESIDENT OF THE COUNTRYS HIGHEST SOCCER GOVERNING BODY,I EXPECT HIM TO BE FIRM IN HIS LEADERSHIP.THIS COACH MUST GO….WHICH EVER WAY WE LOOK AT IT! HE IS SO ARROGANT,TAKES NO ADVICE,A MR KNOW IT ALL AND VERY STUBBORN.THE FAZ HAVE EVEN ALLOWED HIM TO ACT AS THOUGH HE IS THE ONE WHO HAS EMPLOYED THEM.PLEASE KAMANGA,FOR ONCE LISTEN TO THE CRIES OF US THE SOCCER LOVING ZAMBIANS AND TAX PAYERS,THAT $10,000 YOU GIVE WADA EVERY MONTH IS WAY TO HIGH AND UNDESERVINGLY GIVEN TO A NON PERFORMER LIKE HIMSELF.RELIEVE HIM OF HIS DUTIES AND FIND A CAPABLE COACH IN HIS PLACE TO BE ASSISTED BY BESTON QUICKSILVER CHAMBESHI.MY ADVICE TO YOU FAZ IS THAT FIRE HIM NOW!! THIS WOULD BE THE RIGHY TIME TO DO SO CONSIDERING THAT QUALIFIERS HAVE BEEN PUSHED TO SEPTEMBER….THIS WOULD GIVE THE NEW COACH ENOUGH TIME TO PUT THINGS IN ORDER BEFORE WE HEAD TO NAMIBIA AND GUINEA BISSAU.

    • I agree with you that there has to be stern approach to this coach but I have to whole heartedly disagree with you that this type of arrogance from coaches only happens here in Zambia….just look at the late Steven keshi and the things he had to say to the Nigerian FA or more recently the current coach of SA Baxter and the things he recently told SAFA when they opted for SA to play the four nations in Zambia rather than go to Asia or closer to home when HR refused to travel with the team to South Africa when he was coach of Zambia….believe you me it happens a lot this thing of coaches showing disrespect to their employers but that is not to say it is fine.

  13. Even with all the leadership problems we have had in FAZ from time in memorial we still won the Afcon in 2012 and we have won multiple CECAFA’S and four COSAFA’S. These trophies can be attributed to good coaching regardless of poor leadership.

I think lumping all this particular coaches failures on the poor leadership at FAZ is simply making an excuse for him. Simple question is how come we have won in the past despite the poor leadership?

I’m not belittling the fact that the leadership problem needs to be looked into and resolved, but I also don’t think that this can be a coaches overarching excuse all the time.

  14. my simple comparison comment is in form of the question ” What’s the difference between his behavior and those best players he was ignoring to say they are indiscipline ?”
    I rest my case!!!

  15. Wada is the worst coach zambia has ever had.
A coach who has lost 3 games at home in 18 months. This has never hapened before in zambian .

  16. Nyirenda is not a coach but a conman who doesn’t know anything. With the national team, he only scored one goal against Gabon in Libreville and we lost that game.

  17. We were made to believe that the new crop of FAZ leaders were pragmatic, above the board type of individuals. Alas we were further made to believe everything done would be done in the interest of our football but unfortunately we were sold a lemon. I was a believer in Wada until I wasn’t due to his arrogance and ego, which believe cost us a place at the World Cup. FAZ should have been decisive in dealing with his case. Fire him or stick with him, whatever the case do not cast blame without actually saying it and creating a situation where the coach has to defend himself before the entire world when you, his employers should be doing it. The situation in not tenable for either party and the lack of foresight that results in the signing of non-performance based contracts means Wada like any right thinking person will not resign but wait for FAZ to fire him so he can collect the balance on his three year contract. FAZ has to take blame on this or swallow their pride and stick with this man. Football continues to suffer regardless of who is in charge it seams. I think players need to have a bigger role in the affairs of FAZ, including a representation at the General Meeting because its seems everyone has their interests taken care of apart from the most important people who happen to be the players.

  18. Wada was given a performance based contract so he can be fired for non performance. …if Faz didint give him a performance based contract then it confirms my suspecion that they dont know what they are doing…

  19. When things are bad in the house you don’t put the blame on the kids but the father who is the head of the house
    That’s his responsibility
    We spoke on this platform
The track record of kamanga is poor
    Kamanga is a failure
When kalu was a the FA President
He fought hard to have him oust
He nearly came up with the parallel league which failed
Kamanga,Rupiah and Vincent mwale made the kalu admin difficult to work with
It was the same chimwale n kamanga who starred Charles Musonda and his sons that almost brought anarchy
Since it’s unlikely that the admin can resign….
    Kamanga must fire the Wada
These crop of players we have can win matches with the captain as the coach

Whichever angle we look from Wada must be fire
Lastly I think kamanga is just as useless as Wada

  20. Kamanga and his administration must be fired.hire expatriate coach and Wada must go. Besides that zambia should forget afcon 2019

  21. If FAZ mean well for the Zambian Football ⚽, Wedson Nyirenda must be Fired!

Instead of monitoring and watching our football ⚽ will focus our eyes ? on the English League.
