Record 13-time MTN Super League champions Nkana FC have announced that skipper Harrison Chisala has extended his contract with the Wusakile-based outfit.
Nkana confirmed that captain Harrison “Lewa” Chisala has signed a new deal that will keep him at the club until June 2028, securing the long-term future of one of the team’s most influential figures both on and off the pitch.
Chisala, who was appointed club captain in 2024, has grown into a central pillar of the squad, providing leadership, stability, and experience in midfield as the Kitwe giants continue their pursuit of domestic success.
Speaking after putting pen to paper, the 28-year-old expressed delight at extending his stay with the club he considers family.
“I am really happy to have signed a new contract with Nkana Football Club.
Extending my stay here means I continue to be part of a big Kalampa family which is hungry for success and wants to do better every game,” Chisala said.
He also paid tribute to the club’s passionate fan base, emphasizing the team’s determination to reward their loyalty.
“The club has the most passionate supporters and we want to repay them with good performances that will bring glory to the team.”
Chisala joined Nkana from Mining Rangers in 2015 and has since developed into one of the league’s most dependable midfielders, making numerous appearances and playing a key role in the club’s campaigns over the past decade.
Club Chief Executive Officer Mwansa Kapyanga welcomed the extension, highlighting Chisala’s continued importance to the team’s ambitions.
“We are delighted to continue our journey together with Harrison, who continues to play an important part in our team. His leadership on and off the pitch has been full of quality and we are hopeful that he will continue to rise in his role,” Kapyanga said.
