Buffaloes stun Nchanga… Wins for Warriors and MUZA as Nkwazi hold Wanderers

Green Buffaloes FC stunned Nchanga Rangers FC 2-1, while FC MUZA and Kabwe Warriors FC recorded narrow victories in Sunday’s MTN Super League Week 25 action.

Several exciting fixtures were played across the country as the league campaign gathered momentum.

Buffaloes fight back at Imboela

At Edwin Imboela Stadium, Buffaloes came from behind to secure a hard-fought 2-1 win over Rangers.

Ifoni Pepo gave the visitors the lead in the 21st minute. However, Felix Jere restored parity three minutes into the second half before an own goal by Roger Kumiyamba in the 53rd minute handed the hosts all three points.

The victory ends Buffaloes’ five-match winless run and extends their dominance in this fixture to 11 games without defeat. Buffaloes move to 32 points, while Rangers remain third on 43 points after missing the chance to close the gap on the top two.

MUZA edge Mines United in Mazabuka

In Mazabuka, Kelvin Mwanza converted from the penalty spot just before halftime to give “The Elegant Dynamites” a 1-0 victory over Mines United FC.

The defeat leaves Mines United winless in six matches, while MUZA climb to eighth place with 34 points.

Warriors back to winning ways

In Kabwe, Kabwe Warriors returned to winning form with a narrow 1-0 win over Mutondo Stars FC.

Quadri Kola scored the decisive goal in the 10th minute, condemning Mutondo Stars to their first defeat in 10 matches. The result lifts Warriors to fifth place with 39 points.

Goalkeeper Mangani Banda also recorded his 13th clean sheet of the season.

Mandanji strikes as ZANACO draw with Blades

At Sunset Stadium, Eliya Mandanji continued his impressive scoring form, netting his ninth goal of the campaign to give ZANACO FC the lead against Konkola Blades FC.

Kenan Phiri equalised just four minutes later to ensure the sides shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw.

Nkwazi held at home

Elsewhere, Nkwazi FC and Mufulira Wanderers FC settled for a 1-1 draw.

Matthews Mashimikilo scored for Nkwazi, while John Foloko found the net for Wanderers.

ZESCO vs NAPSA postponed

The clash between ZESCO United FC and NAPSA Stars FC at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium was postponed following a heavy downpour that rendered the pitch unplayable.
