PSl leading scorer being considered for Namibia clash

Interim Zambia national team coach Aggrey Chiyangi revealed that he will summon a number of foreign based players for the Egypt 2019 AFCON qualifier against Namibia slated for Heroes Stadium on March 23rd.

The Green Eagles boss says he will summon about six or seven players. He is also considering roping in current PSL top goalscorer Mwape Musonda.

The Black Leopards forward has scored 12 goals in 20 games including a hatrick over the weekend as he looks to win the top goalscorer award a season after winning the NFD award for most goals.

“Yes we have to call some foreign based players apart from those playing for the U23. Those we have to leave them.We looking at summoning six or seven foreign based players,” Chiyagi told the ZamFoot crew in an interview on Wednesday.

“What we are going to do is is when we sit down we are going to discuss and see if we can invite him so that we can have a look at him. It is always important to bring all the players doing well so that you can see what they can offer, ” he added.

Zambia will host Namibia on March 23rd at the Heroes Stadium. Zambia have already been eliminated from the race to Egypt but the match still has alot of impact on who will make it to the final tournament.

  1. What do you need to see have you not watched him play in the psl and this will not be the first time he will be playing for Chipolopolo. Why are you like this? do want players to sweat blood and vomit their lungs to prove that they are able. We know malandakanwa ayo please call up Mwape Musonda PSL is a competitive league, the lad has proved himself from NFD to PSL still leading scorer.

  2. I starting to think chiyangi you have a problem maybe that is why Tapson Kaseba is almost a dying name after emerging the Zambian born top scorer last year. You call him for National duty whilst I have observed you don’t include him in your Green Eagles Squad, what are you communicating to us.

  3. we’ve alot of young talented boys and girls in zam,but the problem is that we’ve poor player selection.Eg when u pick a national team coach from a certain club,u’re going to see that three quarters of the players is calling for the national duty is from his club. From jnk
