Power Dynamos go down in Khartoum

Power Dynamos kicked off their CAF Confederation Cup campaign with a narrow 1- 0 loss against Al Khartoum of Sudan.

Power conceded the goal 20 minutes into the game but could have leveled matters when Alex Ngonga who started as a lone striker hit the woodwork.

Power controlled proceedings in the game with a packed five man midfield and will fancy their chances when the two teams meet in the return leg on the 27th of February in Kitwe.

  1. Power will fancy their chances but it will be difficult if they concede at home. Meaning they will have to score more than three goals of which they can but as the Kenya tour showed, they are vulnerable at the back as well.

  2. This attitude by Zambian clubs of losing away and hoping to win at home should come to an end. How about if Al Khartoum force a draw in Kitwe? Then Power Dynamos will be out.Aim to win an away match and the worst result should be a draw in an away match. Only then will Zambian clubs start making it in these continental club championships.

    • Our clubs are no good & this extends to our national team. local league is a joke. How do u expect Power to do internationally?
We tend to become serious when we have international assignments. IT DOES NOT WORK THAT WAY.
Our under 17 & 20s are our hope ELSE we may not even qualify for the next AFCON , & forget about the World Cup altogether .

    • Agreed Billy and Malanga. These clubs shod be thinking about strengthening the team with the idea of winning the league and competing on the continent. At the same time we need to shift attention to winning games away.
