New signing Thomas Chideu marked his Forest Rangers second outing with goal as he helped the Ndola side silence Nkana with a 2-1 victory on Thursday in a Zambian Super League played at Kitwe’s Nkana Stadium.
Daily Echabe gave the visitors the lead but his goal was cancelled by Emmanuel Mwiinde’s equalizer for struggling Nkana.
Chideu then scored the winning goal on the half hour mark. The Zimbabwean joined Forest Rangers this week from Harare
With the win, Tenant Chilumba’s side moved into the continental places. Forest Rangers are now third with 35 points from 22 matches.
The Zaffico sponsored side are a point above and below Power Dynamos and Zanaco.
For the 13 times Zambian clubs are still stuck in the relagation zone with 21 points in the bottom three. Kalampa have three games in hand.
The Kelvin Kaindu coached side will now shift their attention to CAF Confederations Cup this weekend as they host Tanzanian side Namungo. The struggling Kitwe giants beat Namungo 1-nil on match day three.
