Zambia U-20 Coach Charles Bwale says crowd favourites Nerbert Musamba is ineligible to play for the U-20, adding that he only qualifiers to play for senior national team.
Bwale said he alongside the U-20 team manager had taken time to verify if the 2018 Barclay’s Cup people’s darling Musamba was eligible to play for his side.
And Bwale said the response from the players was good especially that Zambia did not qualify for the U-20 AFCON. He said the best players were putting their best.
The Junior Chipolopolo coach confirmed Two players Kingsley Hakwiya and Muma Mumba were writing exams and that Francisco Mwepu in Austria attending trials; Lameck in Turkey, adding that he will in camp before the start of the tournament. He also confirmed but Mwepu is ruled out.
” We looked At Nerbert Musamba and most times we work in collaboration with my team manager and before we include anyone to the squad we verify someone’s age. He is eligible for the national team and not U20,” he said.
“The response from the players is good especially that we did not even qualify for AFCON. The players are putting in their best.
“We called 30 players into camp and only about 26 have reported. Two are writing exams in Kingsley Hakwiya and Muma Mumba. Francisco Mwepu is In Austria attending trials while Lameck is in Turkey. Lameck will be in before we start the tournament but Mwepu is ruled out.
“We have recalled Andrew Phiri who was with the U17 in Mauritius and we have new inclusions in Mugala, Mashata and Gondwe.
Meanwhile Bwale said his priority is to make the country happy and not to push for his elevation into the national team technical bench.
” First of all I have to make sure I do the country proud so I will have to give a good performance at COSAFA then maybe push for a place at the senior National team.
“Everyone is pushing themselves very hard. He (Coach Bwale)Â is pushing everyone in the team to be at high level. Everyone is pushing to be at high level and to make sure the team gives a good performance.
” Definitely as a coach I shouldn’t be working under pressure. The objective was to develop these guys so that they reach the highest level . Even the senior national team coach called two of our boys for camp which is the objective so that I shouldn’t be working under pressure,” he concluded.
What do you mean he is eligible for the National team? Are you trying to say Sven should include him in the chipolopilo squad?instead of saying he is over age you busy recommendeding that shot boy to the senior team??
The biggest mistake faz did at this level was appointing this Bwale guy? Which team has he coached in Zambia?
I still have alot of doubts about Bwale being the right person for the job.we shall see.
Kwena surely that short boy, peoples boy not that he is good no it’s because of his height and all that’s why they were applauding .
