The 2025/26 MTN Super League season draws to a close this weekend with Week 34 fixtures spread across three days, beginning with two matches on Friday afternoon in Lusaka and Kabwe.
Red Arrows vs Green Buffaloes
15:00 CAT | Nkoloma Stadium, Lusaka
Second-placed Red Arrows host Green Buffaloes in a military derby as the Airmen look to end the campaign on a high in front of their home supporters.
Arrows have already secured a runners-up finish and head into the match on 60 points, while Buffaloes sit 12th with 41 points.
The Airmen are unbeaten in their last four matches, recording two wins and two draws, and also carry a strong recent record against Buffaloes. Since 2021, Arrows have not lost this fixture, winning four meetings and drawing the other four.
Forward Albert Kangwanda will once again be central to Arrows’ attacking threat, supported by Alassane Diarra in midfield and wide men Ackim Mumba and Lazarus Chishimba. Michee Malonga and Cedric Onyumbe are expected to marshal the defence, while Angel Lubamba and Joseph Phiri could lead the line.
Buffaloes, meanwhile, will rely on Golden Mashata and Perkins Mumba for creativity, with Christopher Kumwembe and Bornface Mwape expected to spearhead the attack.
On the touchline, coaches Chisi Mbewe and Aggrey Chiyangi renew their tactical rivalry in what is expected to be a competitive final-day encounter.
Mines United vs Green Eagles
15:00 CAT | Railway Stadium, Kabwe
Already relegated Mines United welcome Green Eagles to Railway Stadium, with the visitors still chasing a possible top-three finish.
Eagles head coach Perry Mutapa says his side is fully prepared for the final game of the season, describing recent matches against champions Power Dynamos and ABSA Cup holders Red Arrows as valuable preparation.
Mutapa admitted injuries made the second half of the campaign difficult, but believes the squad has shown significant progress and depth compared to last season.
Green Eagles are currently fifth on the table with 50 points and could climb as high as third depending on results elsewhere.
For Mines United, the campaign has been one to forget. The Kabwe-based side are rooted to the bottom of the table with just 15 points from 33 matches and only two wins all season.
Their last victory came on January 31 — against none other than Green Eagles — and since then they have lost 13 of their last 16 matches.
Despite their struggles, Mines United will hope to end the season with a positive result against a Green Eagles side also arriving on the back of consecutive defeats.
