Former FC Porto left-back Emmanuel Mbola has joined Zambia Super League defending champions, Nkana Kalampa, the club has revealed.
Mbola joins Nkana as a free agent after being unattached for several months. Mbola is the second player to be unveiled by the Kitwe giants in the last 48 hours after Zimbabwean defensive midfielder Tichaona Chipunza’s acquisition was made public on Tuesday.
Mbola says it’s now time to work and help the team get back to where it belongs.
“The holiday is over now and it’s time for hard work and push the team to where it belongs. We have a big task ahead but it’s possible to achieve,” Mbola said.
Mbola added that he was happy to be part of the rich history of the club and that he is ready to work for positive results for Nkana.
Mbola previously played for Afrisports and later Mining Rangers. He later secured a move to Pyunik Yerevan where he tasted UEFA Champions League football with the then Armenia champions in the 2009/2010 campaign.
Mbola then joined TP Mazembe and later moved to Portugal on a loan deal from the DR Congo giants where he featured for Porto B between 2012 and 2013.
He then joined Hapoel Ra’anana and later moved to Bnei Sakhnin.
Mbola made his AFCON debut as the youngest player at the 2010 AFCON in Angola at age16 where he helped Zambia reach their first quarterfinals since 1996.
