Tanzanian side, Azam FC has confirmed the departure of head coach George Lwandamina from the club following a string of poor results as earlier reported by the ZamFoot Crew.
According an official statement by the club accessed by the ZamFoot Crew, The former Chipolopolo boss handed in a resignation letter saying it was in the interest of the club.
“Top gaffer George Lwandamina has resigned from his position as Azam football club Head Coach today Monday December 13, 2021.
Lwandamina has written a letter to the board of Azam FC and thanked him for the opportunity he gave him in the club.
In his letter, the Zambian coach has said he has taken the decision in the interest of the club.”
Lwandamina says it’s a difficult decision to make but has wished the club well going forward.

Azam has accepted his resignation and has since appointed the technical director, Abdihamid Moalin to hold that position until the new coach is announced.
Azam has only managed 3 wins, 2 draws and 3 defeats in their first 8 matches of the season and are currently sitting in 8th position with 11 points in the 2021-22 season and are 9 points off the pacesetters, Yanga SC.
The Ice cream makers have scored 6 goals and have allowed 7 goals so far.
Lwandamina joined Azam FC on 4th December 2020 and was in charge of the club in the CAF Confederation Cup where they were eliminated by Egyptian side Pyramids FC.
