Pascal Phiri makes Al Ittihad Alexandria debut

Zambian winger Pascal Phiri made his debut for Al Ittihad Alexandria on Friday as they held Egyptian giants Zamalek to a goalless draw in their opening Egyptian Premier League fixture.

The 21-year-old started on the right wing and featured for the opening 45 minutes before being substituted at half-time.

Phiri showed flashes of his attacking ability during his debut, recording two shots on target, two successful dribbles and winning all four of his recorded duels before making way.

The young winger joined Al Ittihad on a 12-month loan from Pyramids FC earlier this month after struggling for regular first-team opportunities in Cairo.

Phiri joined Pyramids in January 2026 from ZESCO United, signing a three-and-a-half-year contract. He had made five CAF Confederation Cup appearances for ZESCO earlier in the season before making the move to Egypt.

The move to Alexandria is expected to provide the Zambia international with valuable first-team minutes and an opportunity to continue his development in one of Africa’s most competitive leagues.

A promising start to a new chapter for the young Copper Bullet.
