Lusaka Dynamos new signing Tadi Etekiama scored his 7th goal of the pre-season in as many practices matches as they have played in yesterday’s friendly against Power Dynamos at Lusaka’s National Heroes Stadium as both sides are fine-tuning for the upcoming season which is scheduled to Kick-off any time soon.
Etekiama, a former AS Vita Club striker benefited well from some sloppy defending in the box by Power Dynamos defenders as he slotted home the equalizer with an excellent shot which went behind the back of the net to level the scores 1-1 just in the early moments of the second half, unfortunately, his goal wasn’t good enough as Lusaka Dynamos succumbed to a 2-1 loss at the hands of Power Dynamos who scored through Dave Daka and Biston Banda.
In 2014, Etekiama won the Lina Foot League with AS Vita Club who competed in the CAF Champions League and went on up to the final where they, unfortunately, lost via a 3-3 scoreline draw on away goals rule at the hands of ES Setif of Algeria.
Etekiama scored 4 goals in the 2014 CAF Champions League campaign for the Black Dolphins and he will be hoping to add that experience to the Elite squad in the 2020-21 Season.

He has so far scored 7 goals for Dynamos in the pre-season friendly matches and he equally had a steady game yesterday with a couple of intelligent runs and moves and the onus of course will be on the young man to inspire the team upfront with the much-needed goals.
Etekiama has a record of over 70 goals in all competitions and is arguably one of the players who have a huge responsibility of leaving up to the club’s expectations because everyone is looking on how best he will be able to fit in the gap left by goal poachers Chris Mugali who joined Simba SC in Tanzania and also Baba Basile who was the club’s top goal scorer last season but he is now on the books of Zanaco.
During his stay at AS Vita Club, Etekiama who was nicknamed Etuta Ekota which means ‘when am with the ball I need to score’ scored a historical and unprecedented 71 goals in all competitions, 50 in the league, 6 in CECAFA, and also 15 in both the CAF Champions and Confederations Cup.
With some unconfirmed reports in Egypt and South Africa reportedly expressing interest in the striker, this in itself should be an indication of the value he holds and also the kind of a player he is, and what he can do on the pitch.
