Wingers Lubambo Musonda and Edward Chilufya have joined their Chipolopolo teammates in Nouakchott to complete the Chipolopolo Boys squad ahead of Friday’s Qatar 2022 World Cup qualifiers.
The duo flew directly from their bases and arrived earlier than the squad that came from Marrakech after a 10-day training camp. The duo is part of the seven foreign-based players that have been named in a 22-member final squad for the Mauritania game.
Others already in camp are Cyril Mwenya Chibwe (Baroka FC), Tandi Mwape (TP Mazembe), Clatous Chama (RS Berkane-Morocco), Enock Mwepu (Brighton & Hove Albion-England), Patson Daka (Leicester-England).
Zambia plays Mauritania on Friday at the Olympic Stadium in Nouakchott be4fore hosting Tunisia four days later in Ndola at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium.

This is a strong squad, especially on attack. Like others I’d like to see E Banda included, and perhaps Sunzu to steady the defense. Too bad Fashion is still recovering. Overall I am hopeful. Go Chipolopolo!
The bulk of the team is still young. They will be skinned most likely in both matches. Our brothers from West Africa are bulk and this team will find it hard to defend set pieces. However, Go Zambia – No pressure.
