The Football Association of Zambia  (FAZ) council has passed a new constitution at its Emmergency Council Meeting held on Saturday just in time to avoid a FIFA ban.
FAZ where given until the end of March by FIFA to make amends to the constitution which amongst other things aimed to reduce the electoral college significantly.
With the new constitution, the league has been expanded to 20 teams wit a national first division league.
There were elements amongst the councillors mainly opposed to the current FAZ president Andrew Kamanga who were opposed to the passing of the new constitution who either did not read the finer detail on the consequences or where just bent on bringing down the whole game as they vehemently opposed to the passing of a new constitution.
However the new constitution was passed with an overwhelming 309 to 11 votes.

Great news!
That’s excellent news!
Its not a bad idea to expand the league but it will definitely came with its own challenges. Think of Real Nakonde travelling to Livingston to play pirates after playing a mid week fixture on a Wednesday. A return journal covers a distance of almost 3000 km being covered by road.
For national division one its not a good idea, because we always have unfulfilled fixtures with the regional division one, so having a national division one will worsen the situation
we need to progress and commercialize our game
Fastastic news! in the absence of cup games the players will hv more games.
Zamfoot what kind of reporting is this how come the new constitution that was opposed by the councillors has pass through with a massive number of votes what exactly are talking about?have you become another watchdog or may be you hav become a mouth piece for kamanga like the zambian reports and its hired blorgs

Undefeated Guru! You expect zamfoot to decider the voting patterns! Just admit there Kali spectre has been exposed from FAZe for good. Councillors are pulling in one direction.
Give a little more detail on what has changed and what has remained. Electoral college reduced..yes, any new positions, tenure of office, is it more difficult to impeach? Such…
