Zambia Under-17 Women’s National Team Coach Kaluba Kangwa has named his starting line up against Comoros in this afternoon’s Match Day 3 of the 2020 COSAFA Girls Championship in Port Elizabeth, South Africa.
Kangwa has maintained almost the entire team that played in the previous games with Progress Sports Club attacking Midfielder Tionge Sambo being the only new face in the team who starts her first match for the Copper Princesses.
Sambo who is one of the new players that are part of the COSAFA squad was instrumental during preparations and build-up to this tournament and she will be tested when she takes up the place of the mesmerizing Cindy Banda who is unwell.
The last time between Zambia and Comoros was last year at the Inaugural COSAFA Tournament in Mauritius in which Zambia run riot past the Islanders 15-0, then Captain of the side Florence Kasonde scored 4 goals, Shelly Masumo and Cindy Banda scored hat-tricks each.
Others who found the back of the net were Tisilile Lungu she scored a brace while Esther Banda and Maweta Chilenga netted a goal each including an on goal from Maenfou so this match will either be history repeating itself or redemption time for Comoros.
A win for the Young Princesses will guarantee them qualification to the final which will be played on Saturday 14th November 2020.
However, Zambia’s last game is on Thursday 12th November 2020 against Zimbabwe.
