Chipolopolo assistant coach Moses ‘Big Mo’ Sichone envisaged himself into the history books after Zambia’s recent success at the 2022 Cosafa Cup.
Sichone is one of a few to have won the Cosafa Cup both as a player and coach.
The former Nchanga Rangers defender cum midfielder was part of the Elijah Litana captained Cosafa Cup winning side in 1998.
Then only as a 21 year old, Sichone won his first major international title as Zambia beat Zimbabwe in Harare courtesy of a Rotson Kilambe strike.
Twenty-four years later, Sichone won his second medal, this time thanks to another special strike from Albert Kangwanda in a 1-0 win over Namibia last Sunday.
That’s two medals for ‘Big Mo’.
Sandwiched between that is a 1999 All Africa Games runners medal.
Sichone also represented Zambia at the 2000 African Cup of Nations where Zambia bowed out in the group stage.
He also spent over a decade playing in the Germany Bundesliga and 2.
In a country where 23 players have AFCON winners medal, the jury is still out for Big Mo.
