Heroes Stadium to cost K50 million

Minister of Youth, Sport and Arts Elvis Nkandu has expressed disappointment with the poor state of National Heroes Stadium.

Nkandu said rehabilitation works at the stadium ahead of the hosting of the Confederation of African Athletics (CAA) Under-18 and Under-20 Championship will cost between K44 million and K52 million according to quotations received.

Speaking when he toured the stadium yesterday, Nkandu was disappointed with the state in which he found the country’s biggest sports facility. He wondered what the management team is doing.

“Firstly I am so disappointed with the way this facility is being managed especially in terms of cleanliness. This is not the way it’s supposed to be.

“I held a discussion with the management team to find out why the surrounding is looking like this but they [management team] also blamed people,” Nkandu said.

  1. Wow, Z44 Million for rehab? I desperately need rehab due to my addictions to speed, coke, angel dust and hooch. I’m hoping it will cost far less because I have zero money and prospects. I am offloading all of my excess trash in my scummy house though. Hit me up. Maybe we can go partying. Going through divorce too so it’s your shout.
