No matter what the circumstances might be, football must be the winner all the time. Results of matches are decided on the football pitch and sometimes the boardrooms do decide the result. But fans and the like have no capacity. Whether the referee made questionable decisions, unfair playing surfaces and all sorts of ugly and potentially unacceptable things, violence and violence will never ever resolve or sort out a problem. Infact it just creates more problems.
Then again, it was the ugly and disturbing scenes at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium. That showed its ugliness.
A club of reputation and history on the Zambian football scene and even beyond our borders, Nkana FC should be setting examples rather than leading the way for bad behavior.
Am not talking about the club directly, its their passionate fans. Strange enough this is a repeat performance by some sections of unruly fans that have once chosen Levy Mwanawasa as scene to behave unruly for the second time. It would appear Ndola is now becoming a haven of discord for the respected club’s fans.
Nkana has a potential to identify these fans and effect bans to avoid this behaviour from happening because if this continues, there is a possibility of losing a life or more soon. And the world is surely watching.
But again we have the mother body, FAZ, what will they do over this matter.
Thank God the game was concluded and hence the results will stand at 1-0. Good for Forest Rangers because the home teams always suffer the consequences.
For a long time, whats mind boggling is the fact that Nkana fans act football manshiply at home, and prefer doing it away from home , Levy Mwanawasa and Arthur Davies in the recent years.
This evidence is very clear and a ban is eminent though there is a danger that this may as well affect the home team. Hope it won’t be the case seemingly is watertight for Nkana fans.
No matter how much security is provided , it reaches a point were unruly behavior prevails especially those under the influence of alcohol.
BUT WHAT REALLY HAPPENED?
Different sources have different stories but let me pick one that we can all look at and digest.
“Bwezani, this did not just start from without, the Forest Rangers ball boys started delaying the normal process of the game and that infiltrated the fans who started throwing objectives. When the Nkana technical bench wanted to step in and plead with the fans to stop throwing objects, the situation became worse and missiles were now targeted to the Nkana bench,” said the source.
The rest his history.
But as i said earlier, let’s wait from FAZ as in doubt if such would go unnoticed.
We already have examples of Kansanshi Dynamos playing their two home games without fans and they have just completed that punishment. It would be strange if this one goes unattended.
Iam equally waiting!!!

I’m a Kalampa fan but when the team’s fans behave in unruly way i will condemn the hooligan behaviour. We should be able to go for a match and not fear violence erupting. This not what Zambian fans are known for. Twakana this type of support.
