The long-awaited meeting moderated by the World football governing body, FIFA between the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) and aggrieved parties will finally be held this coming Friday after failing to take off last month.
FAZ President Andrew Kamanga confirmed during an interview with the ZamFoot Crew that the meeting with FIFA will take place on Friday, October 30th via Zoom with the agenda and invitees remaining unchanged.
“With FIFA, Yes, I think we were supposed to have that meeting on 1st September we were all ready but unfortunately our colleagues didn’t come through they indicated that they were not ready and I think at that point FIFA indicates that the meeting is held on 30th October, which is next Friday,” he said.
“So we hope that this time around everyone will be ready to attend because FIFA said the agenda, they circulated the invitees they extended remain valid. So we hope that we can get through with that meeting next week on Friday. It’s still a zoom meeting and we expect everyone to be ready because we’ve had two months of extra time as it were,” he added.
The aggrieved parties are expected to present their case with FAZ given a chance to answer before FIFA can give a way forward to put a close to wrangles that have rocked the electoral process.
The meeting will have FAZ representative, Ministry of Sport officials, National Sports Council of Zambia, and the Alleged aggrieved parties to the ongoing electoral process led by Patson Lusaka and Damiano Mutale (maximum of three representatives).
FIFA had set Tuesday, September 1, 2020, as the date for the resolution of the FAZ wrangles, However, the aggrieved parties demanded for more time before they could be ready for the FIFA mediated meeting.
